Right and Wrong

There are things taught and there are things learned. In my mind, I see the difference. One is intentional, the other happens by chance.

Extensive User Interface Analysis

I like this phrase for when people are clicking desperately around an application as they try to figure out how to do something.

Thanks

Hi.

Odds are good that I don’t talk to you much, if at all. Sorry, it’s not you; it’s me.

When it rains, when it suns, in the midst of calm or storm, during moments of beauty and insight that give me pause, I sometimes stop and think of you. My family, my friends.

You’ve helped me laugh and smile. Been a part of my silly, happy, and sad. You’re reminders to me that this world is both entirely too big and small. You’re scattered. Across cities, states, and countries. Washington Evergreens. Michigan flats. Utah mountains. Shimmering San Diego. Australian coasts. Bustling New York. Canadian ehs. Amidst corn and wheatfields and towers of glass and steel. Surrounded by sea breeze, storm static, neon lights and impatient horns. You’re everywhere.

We share the same blue-grey-dark-starry skies. Glow beneath a common moon. Rise with the same sun towards the same future, if not at the same time.

If there’s one last thing I could tell you, it would be this: Thanks for giving my heart so many places to grow.

God Complex

The god complex in me wishes I could be everywhere. In the sun to help keep you warm. Amongst the wind to cool you down and make the trees and flowers wave hello from me. In the stars to light the darkest nights, to dazzle you and give your dreams a place to thrive.

I learned a long time ago that I can’t fix everything. The desire is still there, don’t get me wrong, but I’m a little bit more armored for my own sanity. I’ve also learned how strong and resiliant each of you can be. I don’t need to be there for each of your personal victories, but I do wish I could be there to cheer you on, wave pom-poms, do carthweels, raise a glass, and help you celebrate.

It’s the thought that counts, you know?

Unspoken

Sometimes all you can do is sit there and share the silence. In the dark. Beneath a starry sky. As the world turns mercilessly along. But it’s enough, because neither of you are alone.

This is also the perfect opportunity to let loose an audible fart.

CR-48

Google started shipping CR-48s again. Apparently I didn’t have enough things to tinker with. This coincides with my renewed interest in LINUX beyond install-so-i-can-hack-my-xbox360/PS3.

EDIT: That should more accurately read: “install-so-I-can-follow-instructions-on-how-to-hack-my-xbox360/PS3″.

It’s funny I even received one. I answered their application very honestly.

Would I attempt to make this my daily machine? Nope.

Do I plan to use this to perform my core functions at work? Nope.

Do I agree to give them ample feedback? Yes.

Maybe they really do want feedback.

The lack of a CAPS key makes me realize how often I use it. O.o

Our Hell – Emily Haines

Our Hell
- Emily Haines

First went wrong is hard to find
We’re paralyzed, we apologize
Our hell is a good life
Last went wrong, where’s my prize under the lights
Can we call it in?
We’ll be on the road
Can we stop?
When we stop my back will turn your face toward the fence
What I thought it was it isn’t now
All this weight, is honest worse
We’re moderate, we modernize
till our hell is a good life
All we know what to forget… how to do right
Coloring in the black hole
Can’t we stop? when we stop
My hands will shake, my eyes will burn
My throat will ache, watching you turn
From me toward your friends
What I thought it was it isn’t now
What I thought it was it isn’t
Punishment to stall what is done
What I thought was in is missing out
What I thought it was it isn’t now
There’s a pattern in the system
There’s a bullet in the gun
That’s why I tried to save you
But it can’t be done

EverQuest?

If the person who stole the SOE accounts could get in contact with me, I've been trying to reset my SOE password for 2 months now, and it hasn't worked. Could you tell me what my password is?
